Artwork Guidelines

Below is a list of the artwork guidelines we have for each category of decoration. Please review this list if you have questions on artwork guidelines. If you have any additional questions or concerns, reach out to us via phone or email.

DTG/DTF Artwork Settings:

For best results and to avoid artwork charges, artwork should come in the following format:

  • PNG files are preferred.  Other acceptable options are PDF, jpg (but only for photos since .jpg file have white backgrounds), and .eps files.
  • Color Mode set to RGB or CMYK.  Do not use Pantone/PMS/Spot colors.
  • A transparent background is required.  Anything that appears in your image on screen (including white backgrounds) will print.
  • 300 dpi image sized to be the actual print size you want on the shirt.
  • If using Photoshop, trim away the excess background (Image>Trim).  Your design should fill up the canvas. (Don’t send a 3″ x 3″ image on a 12″ x 10″ art board).
  • Items downloaded from the internet (unless purchased from artwork sites) are generally only 72 dpi-low resolution files, and in most cases, illegal to reproduce. If you don’t have professional graphic design software, you can hire one, or have us create something for you.
  • NOTICE: Any files that come in another format will need to be converted to PNG format.  If not designed correctly, this could change the color profiles and will result in artwork charges.  Following the step-by-step instructions in the PDFs is critical for good results.

Embroidery Artwork Settings:

A digitized file is required for embroidery.  For instance, we use .dst or .pxf files for embroidery. This is not likely a file you would have unless you have embroidered your design before.  Additionally, you likely won’t have the software to create one.  We can digitize files for you. Most designs cost $35 for up to 15,000 stitches to digitize. A few exceptions apply. Please email your file to us for more information.

If we are digitizing your file, vector art is ideal.  However, any file type will work.  The better the clarity of the file supplied, the better your embroidery results will be.  Embroidery doesn’t work well with small, extremely detailed designs.

File types: Corel Draw (.cdr), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), .svg, .eps, and in some cases, .pdf files.  We can also use good quality .jpg, .gif, .psd, .png, and other raster file types.  Otherwise, we can create something for you.  We can also convert raster images to vector art for a fee.

Laser Cutting Artwork Settings:

The laser can work with virtually any file type.  Generally speaking, if you can open a file on your screen, you can probably send the file to the laser for output.  However, certain file types and setups are needed for specific results. Vector files are required.  The cutline must be a hairline outline.  Outlines wider than hairlines will not work.  Acceptable files: Corel Draw (.cdr), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), .svg, .eps, and in some cases, .pdf files.

Laser Etching/Engraving Artwork Settings:

The laser can work with virtually any file type.  Generally speaking, if you can open a file on your screen, you can probably send the file to the laser for output.  However, certain file types and setups are needed for specific results.

File types: Any raster image works for etching/engraving.  We can use good quality .jpg, .gif, .bmp, .psd, .png, and other raster file types.  300 dpi files are recommended for best results.  Vector files also work for etching.  Acceptable files: Corel Draw (.cdr), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), .svg, .eps, and in some cases, .pdf files.  When submitting vector files for etching/engraving, make sure they do not have hairline outlines (unless you want that line to become a cutline).

Combo: Files can be etched and cut when setup properly.  For example, importing a photograph into Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator and adding a hairline outline will first engrave the image, then cut it out.

Rhinestones Artwork Settings:

We require vector art for creating rhinestone designs.
File types: Corel Draw (.cdr), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), .svg, .eps, and in some cases, .pdf files. Please DO NOT use Photoshop and save it as an EPS file. It is not the same as a vector art .eps file made with vector art software.
If you don’t have professional graphic design software, you can have us create something for you for a fee. We can also convert raster images to vector art for a fee.

Screen Printing Artwork Settings:

We require vector art for screen printing. Since we only offer one color screen printing, files should be made using only black (CMYK value 60/60/0/100 or 100/100/100/100)

File types: Corel Draw (.cdr), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), .svg, .eps, and in some cases, .pdf files. Please DO NOT use Photoshop and save it as an EPS file…it is not the same as a vector art .eps file made with vector art software.

If you don’t have professional graphic design software, you can hire a designer or have us create something for you for a fee, we have in-house graphic designers. We can also convert raster images to vector art for a fee.

Print & Cut Sign Vinyl Artwork Settings:

For most products, we require vector art for creating vinyl designs.
File types: Corel Draw (.cdr), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), .svg, .eps, and in some cases, .pdf files. Please DO NOT use Photoshop and save it as an EPS file…it is not the same as a vector art .eps file made with vector art software. Some prints do not need to be vectored, like photographs. In this case, we want the highest resolution file you have and at the size you want it printed. A 3” x 3” 72 dpi image taken from social media and blown up to poster size is not going to look good. If you don’t have professional graphic design software, you can hire a designer or have us create something for you for a fee. We can also convert raster images to vector art for a fee.

Sublimation Artwork Settings:

For best results, artwork should ideally come in the following formats:

  • Vector: Corel Draw (.cdr), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), or .eps files CMYK or RGB (preferred) format

If you don’t have professional graphic design software, you can hire a designer or have us create something for you for a fee, we have in-house graphic designers. We can also convert raster images to vector art for a fee.
